Welcome to the Yass Parish of the

Uniting Church in Australia

Entering 2026 with Hope

As we begin 2026, we do not know all that lies ahead—but we trust the God who goes before us.

The past year has reminded us that life is often uncertain. Disasters happen, plans change, seasons shift, and the path forward is not always clear. Yet our Christian faith does not ask us to pretend certainty where there is none. Instead, it invites us to place our trust in God’s faithful presence and guiding Spirit.

The year ahead will bring both challenge and gift, clarity and waiting. In all of it, we hold fast to God’s promise of presence and guidance:

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 4:19)

We step into this new year with hope, confident that God will provide what we need for the journey and is still at work among us:

“See, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19)

May this new year be one in which we grow in faith, deepen in compassion, and discover again that God’s grace is sufficient for each day. Because God is faithful, 2026 will be a year of faith, compassion, and renewed trust in God’s leading.
